The Section for Organizational Sociology within the German Sociological Association (DGS) focuses on the relationship between organizations and society in modern society. Our main goal is to promote research and teaching in organizational sociology in Germany and to connect scholars and practitioners engaged in these activities. To this end, we organize conferences, support field-specific publications, and coordinate two active working groups: one dedicated to „Organization and Digitalization“ and another focused on „Organization and Valuation.“

Beyond our German-speaking activities, we are actively involved in international conferences and workshops, such as the International Conference of Organizational Sociology, which will be held for the second time in Hamburg on March 27–28, 2025. Our section is committed to fostering international dialogue and collaboration, and we encourage you to get in touch with a member of our board if you are interested in connecting with scholars from the German-speaking world in the field of organizational sociology.
